Yeah…I laughed too.

Nothing they teach you in college is a secret.  Frank Zappa once said something to the effect of, “If you want to get laid, go to college. If you want to get an education, go to the library.”  I sort of agree in that it isn’t completely necessary to go to a college/university to get an education (unless you want to, say, be a music therapist, which requires getting an education at an accredited university so that you can take an exam and become a certified MT).  Most, if not all, of the things taught in college can be found online or at a library.  But I’m not against going to college (obviously, because I’m typing this from my dorm room); you can learn a lot about yourself at college and it can be a lot of fun.  You get to work with some pretty amazing professors and musicians and the atmosphere is really inspiring.  People shouldn’t feel that they HAVE to go to college just because everyone else does it or because their parents want them to.
Also, Scientology really bugs me. Part of me wants to believe some of the things in Dianetics because it could possibly maybe be sort of plausible.  But when I see it the context of the whole religion, I get really iffy.  A religion that makes you pay tens, sometimes hundreds, of thousands of dollars?  No thanks.  How about practicing the religion of love and compassion?  It’s free.
I think listening to Pierre Schaeffer gets me into an opinionated mood.
